In the morning of September 28, 2023, a delegation of six members, including Professor Markus Taube from the Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, and Professor Liu Gang, Director of Institute of Economics, Nankai University, Professor Dai Shuanping from the School of Economics, Jilin University, etc., visited the School of Government, Shenzhen University. Professor Chen Wen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Professor Gu Zhijun, Deputy Dean of the School, and other related persons accompanied the reception.

At the symposium, the two sides introduced the basic situation, research features and advantages of their respective teams, conducted in-depth exchanges on industrial policy, artificial intelligence, green development, Shenzhen innovation model and other topics, and expressed the intention of further cooperation. The persons who attended the symposium included: Liu Jie, a teacher from the Chinese Institute of New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategies; Liu Hanwen, a doctor from the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex; Karolin Hofmann, a doctor from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany; Associate Professor Luo Wen’en, Head of Department of Administration of the School; the teachers Guo Jing and Yang Jingmin from the Department of Public Policy; the teachers An Yuanyuan and Bai Min from the Institute of Emerging Industries in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, etc.

After the symposium, the academic lecture “The Market and the State: Taking a New Look at Dynamic Issues of Contemporary Global Economic Development” hosted by the School was held at B201, Shouzheng Building. The lecture was chaired by the teacher Yang Jingmin, and Professor Markus Taube from the Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, Deputy Director of Center for East Asian Studies, and German Dean of Confucius Institute in Ruhr, delivered a keynote speech. Professor Markus Taube shared his latest research results by time nodes. The participating teachers and students exchanged viewpoints with Professor Markus Taube actively.
